TNLAX-Nashville Girls Lacrosse Team was formed in December of 2005 when thirty high school age girls from the area were selected to compete on a club team coached by Megan Riley Clark, former assistant coach at Vanderbilt University.
In the fall of 2005, Clark, assisted by several college players ran a Fall Ball Clinic for high school girls interested in improving their skills. It ran for five weeks from September through October and was attended by over sixty girls from the Nashville area. Fall Ball has now become an annual event. Because of its success, we felt the time had come to start a club team that would eventually be able to compete at higher levels with teams across the nation. TNLAX has been competing in tournaments on the east coast for the past couple of years. We have had many TNLAX graduates to accept scholarships at the collegiate level.
The high school team has twenty, two hour practices starting in January running through November. Try-outs for the 2010 season will be held October 4th and 11th. Membership is paid by annual fees. We are looking for middle school players to make a commitment to play lacrosse year round. For more information, email Megan Clark at tnlax@comcast.net.
TNLAX also offers opportunities to girls lacrosse players that are not on the TNLAX team through leagues and clinics. Please check out our website for more information on these opportunities for elementary, middle and high school girls under the Fall Ball and Fiddle Stix tabs! These are great opportunities to improve your game in the off season!
