TNLAX-Nashville Girls Lacrosse Team was formed in December of 2005 when thirty high school age girls from the area were selected to compete on a club team coached by Megan Riley Clark, Assistant Coach of the Vanderbilt University Women's Lacrosse Team.
The Vanderbilt connection has been a real bonus for the sport of lacrosse in Nashville. In the fall of 2005, Coach Megan, assisted by several Commodore players ran a Fall Ball Clinic for high school girls interested in improving their skills. It ran for five weeks from September through October and was attended by over sixty girls from the Nashville area. Fall Ball has now become an annual event. Because of its success, Coach Megan felt the time had come to start a club team that would eventually be able to compete at higher levels with teams across the nation. This is TNLAX's third season for the high school team and we would like to expand in order to open up opportunites for middle school players to improve their skills and compete.
The high school team has twenty, two hour practices starting in January running through November. Try-outs for the 2008 season were held in October and membership is paid by annual fees. We are looking for middle school players to make a commitment to play lacrosse year round. For more information, email Coach Megan Clark at tnlax@comcast.net.
